Free spins are probably the most common casino offer in the UK. But they’re not all the same, so let’s look at what you’re actually getting.
A free spin is a spin on a set slot, at a set stake, paid for by the casino. It’s usually 10p a spin, on one or two named games. So fifty free spins at 10p is worth about £5 of play… not £50.
You’ll see a few different types. Deposit spins arrive after you add money. Some need you to stake a set amount first. And no-deposit spins just need you to sign up and verify your account.
Here’s the part that matters most: what happens to your winnings. With no-wagering spins, whatever you win is cash, and you can withdraw it. With wagering spins, winnings land as bonus money that you have to play through first. Since January 2026, that’s capped at 10 times.
Check the small print, too. Spins usually expire within a day or a few days of being credited. Some offers cap how much you can win. And a few are split up… say, ten spins a day over five days.
So, the quick test. How much is each spin worth, which games can you use them on, and are the winnings cash? If the answer to that last one is yes, it’s usually a good deal. 18+. Please gamble responsibly.
