Progressive Jackpots Explained

Progressive jackpots are the slots that can pay life-changing amounts. Here’s how they grow, and what the odds really look like.

Every time someone plays, a small part of their stake goes into the jackpot. So the prize keeps growing until someone wins it. Then it resets to a starting amount.

Some jackpots belong to a single game. Others are networked, linked across lots of casinos, which is how the biggest ones climb into the millions. There are also daily jackpots that have to drop before a set time.

The odds of hitting a big progressive are tiny. And because part of every stake feeds the jackpot, the regular return on those games is often lower.

Check how the jackpot is triggered. On some games, a bigger stake gives you a better chance, or you need to opt in. And remember the stake limit is £5 a spin, or £2 if you’re under 25.

Enjoy them for the excitement, not as a plan to win. Set a budget, and if a jackpot chase stops being fun, take a break. 18+. Please gamble responsibly.
