Every UK-licensed casino has tools to help you stay in control. Here’s what they are, and how to use them.

Deposit limits cap how much you can add each day, week or month. Since October 2025, casinos have to prompt you to set one before your first deposit. Lowering a limit works straight away. Raising it only happens after a cooling-off period.

Reality checks pop up to remind you how long you’ve been playing. And on slots, you’ll see your session’s net wins or losses, and how long you’ve played.

If you need a short break, take a time-out on that site. It’s usually anything from a day to six weeks.

For a longer break, self-exclusion blocks you from a casino for at least six months. And GAMSTOP lets you exclude from every online gambling site licensed in Great Britain at once… for six months, one year, or five years.
