Casino payment methods in the UK
The way you pay affects how quickly you can withdraw, whether you can claim a welcome offer, and even which limits apply. So, here’s how each common method works at UK-licensed casinos.

Debit cards
Visa and Mastercard debit cards are the default at almost every UK casino. In most cases, deposits land instantly. Similarly, withdrawals back to a card usually arrive within hours to a few days, depending on the casino.
Credit cards are banned
The Gambling Commission banned gambling with credit cards in Great Britain on 14 April 2020. What’s more, the ban also covers e-wallets: you can’t top up an e-wallet with a credit card and then gamble with it. For that reason, casinos must reject e-wallet payments that come from credit cards.
E-wallets
PayPal, Skrill and Neteller keep your card details away from the casino. As a result, they’re usually among the quickest ways to get paid. However, some casinos exclude deposits from certain e-wallets, most often Skrill and Neteller, from their welcome offers. So always check the bonus terms before you deposit.
Mobile wallets, bank transfers and pay by mobile
- Apple Pay and Google Pay are quick for deposits. Withdrawals usually go back to the card linked to your wallet.
- Open banking and bank transfers move money straight from your bank account. Instant deposits are common; withdrawals can take longer.
- Pay by mobile adds deposits to your phone bill. Daily limits are low, and you can’t withdraw to it, so you’ll need a second method for payouts.
Two rules worth knowing
First, casinos normally pay withdrawals back to the method you deposited with, where they can. For that reason, choose something you’re happy to be paid into.
Second, since 31 October 2025, casinos must prompt new customers to set a deposit limit before their first deposit. In fact, setting one is the default, and you have to confirm if you don’t want one.

Casino payment methods in the UK FAQs
Can I use a credit card at a UK online casino?
No. You can’t gamble with a credit card in Great Britain, and that has been the rule since April 2020. It also applies to e-wallets funded by credit cards.
What’s the fastest way to get paid?
E-wallets such as PayPal are usually fastest, with many debit card payouts also quick. Bank transfers tend to be slowest.
Why can’t I claim a bonus with Skrill or Neteller?
Some casinos exclude these e-wallets from welcome offers. The bonus terms list the excluded methods, so check them first.
Can I withdraw to pay by mobile?
No. Pay by mobile is deposit-only, so you’ll need a debit card, e-wallet or bank account for withdrawals.
